If God has led you to be single, embrace it!
“Only one not one of several."

“Unattached, unfettered, unwed. Free, loner, solo, unique.
Companionless, living alone.”

Sometimes it feels good to be single. When you wake up in the middle of the night and want a cup of tea, there is no one to disturb or no one to complain. When you're choosing employment options there is no one to consult with, only your choice matters. When trying to decide what's for dinner, there is never an issue. It can be cereal, a cheese sandwich, a milkshake or delivery from your favorite restaurant. No need to stress over cooking a meal for someone.
Bad times to be single - when your tire is flat or your car breaks down. What is that red light for anyway? When you run out of money but it's not payday yet. When there's snow and ice outside but you need to drive to church, school, work, etc. In the middle of the night when you hear a noise…
As a Christian, is it good to be single? Yes! I’m not saying it’s a choice for everyone but if God has led you to be single, embrace it! Give your entire being to Jesus! Not just your worship and praise. Give Him your affections, your love, your finances, the words of your mouth and the meditations of your heart. Give Him your deepest fears and insecurities, too.
Also, give Him your thoughts and your desires.
Jesus has a habit of giving a dedicated single the desires of his or her heart. This is because they have placed every part of their lives into His capable hands. Know that He will open doors that no one else can open. And there is no issue that is too big or too small for our God!
Yes, there will be times of loneliness. But in those times of seemingly complete aloneness, I have felt the Lord’s presence stronger than at any other time. He reassures and strengthens me until I am able to go on. I am convinced that Jesus has a special love for those who walk this path alone. For did He not do the same?
