The Lord fights for us, we need only be still.
We were born on a battlefield when we entered the world. The conflict will continue throughout our lives until God calls us home to heaven. But each woman’s battle is different, yet the same. We have a common enemy. He is a fallen angel who daily seeks to steal our peace. However, we have a Savior, His name is Jesus. He is also known as the Good Shepherd, who cares for us. Exodus 14:14 says, “The Lord fights for us, we need only be still.”
In the often-quoted passage of Psalm 23:5, the VOICE translation gives us a different perspective on this battle. It says, “You spread out a table before me, provisions in the midst of attack from my enemies; You care for all my needs, anointing my head with soothing, fragrant oil, filling my cup again and again with Your grace.”
Where are you sitting today? Are you sitting at the table where God’s provisions are spread out before you, even as your goals, dreams, and even your family is under attack by the enemy?
Receive His healing as your heavenly Father cares for all your needs. He will breathe a cool breeze over your parched skin and tight shoulders. God continues to fill your cup with His grace so it never runs dry.
In my own life, I have walked through the valley of the shadow of death, even through the death of my husband and mother within two months, and then my own cancer diagnosis. But I chose to trust the Good Shepherd, my Gentle Savior to carry me through the hard places. I chose to trust Him when my eyes couldn’t see the path ahead. And I chose joy when tears and fears threatened to overtake me.
You have a choice. To sit at the banqueting table of the Lord or let the enemy silence your voice and put your hopes and dreams on the shelf. Luke 1:37 says, “For with God nothing will be impossible.” That’s where we take our stand as women of God. I’m standing with you in prayer.
